TRAVEL VACCINATION & TRAVEL MEDICINE

Travel Vaccination & Travel Medicine

If you have plans to travel overseas, you are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment with a doctor for general travel advice and to discuss any travel vaccinations recommended or required for your destinations.

When it comes to international travel, it is crucial to plan ahead. It is recommended you book your appointment with the doctor at least 6 weeks before your intended trip. Early planning ensures you receive the appropriate protection and minimises any potential health risks associated with your travel.

To expedite the process, if you already know which specific vaccines you require based on your destination, kindly inform Reception when booking your appointment. This information will streamline your consultation with the doctor, ensuring you receive the necessary vaccinations and comprehensive travel advice tailored to your specific needs.

Prioritising your health and well-being during travel is essential so please don’t hesitate to reach out and book your appointment well in advance of your departure date.

Please note: we do not stock Q-Fever or Yellow Fever vaccinations.

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is a common respiratory virus that can cause more serious illness in babies and older adults. Funded RSV vaccination is available for eligible Australians, including people aged 75+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 60+, and during pregnancy from 28 weeks.

VZV (Varicella-Zoster Virus) causes chickenpox and can later reactivate as shingles. Varicella vaccination is recommended for people who are not immune, with funded vaccination available to some eligible age groups.
