HOTDOC PAYMENTS

HotDoc Payments

Our clinic uses HotDoc Payments to securely process payments for appointments, making the booking and payment process simpler and more convenient for patients.

If you have any questions, please speak with our Reception team.

Why am I being asked to provide my card details?

When booking online through HotDoc, you may be asked to securely enter your credit or debit card details to confirm your appointment.

In some cases, patients booking over the phone or in person may also receive a secure SMS or email link to add payment details.

Your card details are used to secure the booking, and payment is generally only processed after your appointment has taken place.

Will I be charged immediately?

Not usually.

In most cases:

  • your card details simply secure the appointment
  • payment is processed after your consultation
  • a temporary $1 pre-authorisation may appear while your card is verified

This $1 verification charge is automatically refunded almost immediately.

In some situations, such as outstanding accounts or specific fees discussed with the clinic, immediate payment may be requested.

What if I am bulk billed or have a concession card?

Providing card details does not automatically mean you will be charged.

If your doctor chooses to bulk bill your appointment, no payment will be processed.

How do I know the message is legitimate?

HotDoc may contact you via SMS, email, or push notification.

Official HotDoc links will only ever include:

  • htd.io
  • hotdoc.com
  • hotdoc.com.au

Please do not click on links from any other domains claiming to be HotDoc.

What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?

If you cancel your appointment within the clinic’s cancellation policy, your card will not be charged.

Appointments can be cancelled online or by contacting Reception.

How do Medicare rebates work?

After payment has been processed, Medicare rebates are returned to your nominated bank account in the usual way.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes.

HotDoc does not store your full card details. Payments are securely processed through trusted payment providers including Stripe, Pin Payments, and Spreedly, all of which meet strict PCI-DSS Level 1 security standards.

Our clinic cannot view or access your full card information.

Why do I see a pending $1 payment?

This is a temporary pre-authorisation used to verify your card. It is not a charge and will automatically disappear or reverse shortly.

Can I update or remove my card details?

Yes. Payment details can be managed through your HotDoc account settings.
