ADHD ASSESSMENT AND SUPPORT

ADHD Assessment And Support

Morningside General Practice Clinic supports existing patients who would like to discuss ADHD concerns with their regular GP.

We can also provide ongoing ADHD medication prescribing where we have correspondence from the treating psychiatrist advising the medication prescribed.

How ADHD Support Works at MGPC

Your pathway will depend on where you are starting.

If you think you may have ADHD
Existing patients can discuss possible ADHD with their regular GP during a general consultation. For some regular patients, their GP may be able to offer an ADHD assessment as part of the next steps.

If your child may have ADHD
Existing patients can discuss concerns about their child with their regular GP, who can advise on the appropriate next steps.

If you already have an ADHD diagnosis
MGPC can provide ongoing ADHD medication prescribing where we have correspondence from your treating psychiatrist advising the medication prescribed. Talk to reception, and let us know you have an existing diagnosis and psychiatrist correspondence.

Discussing ADHD With Your GP

ADHD concerns are usually discussed with your regular GP during a general consultation.

It helps to bring:

  • any previous ADHD assessments or specialist reports
  • a list of current medications
  • relevant school documents or information for children
  • a few notes about what you have noticed and how long it has been happening

If You Already Have an ADHD Diagnosis

MGPC can provide ongoing medication prescribing where we have correspondence from your treating psychiatrist advising the medication prescribed.

ADHD Assessment vs ADHD Diagnosis

An ADHD assessment gathers information about symptoms, history and how they affect everyday life. MGPC does not offer specific consultations for ADHD diagnosis. Existing patients can discuss ADHD concerns with their regular GP, and the appropriate process can then begin.

Support Beyond Medication

ADHD support can also cover sleep, mental health and everyday challenges.
